Sam Sing SinMalaysiaSenior LecturerTIDREC, Universiti MalayaDr. Sing-Sin Sam received her Ph.D. in virology and host genetics in 2016, from the Universiti Malaya (UM), Malaysia. She is currently an academic researcher at the Tropical Infectious Diseases Research and Education Centre (TIDREC) in UM. Dr Sam was actively involved in research projects in molecular virology, diagnostic and vaccine developments. Her current main research area focuses on emerging and neglected vector-borne viruses with zoonotic potential, which is often overlooked by the local government and funding agencies. Her research studies are of great significance to draw attention of the local communities to mitigate the emerging threats of infectious diseases in the animals and humans for public health, food security and sustainability in the country.
