Beyond the Eschar: A Deeper Look at Scrub Typhus Cases in Negeri Sembilan

Scrub typhus is a neglected tropical infection caused by the bite of a trombiculid mite carrying the intracellular bacterium Orientia tsutsugamushi. Data regarding scrub typhus in Malaysia are scarce, despite it being a potentially fatal condition. Twenty- six subjects with positive scrub typhus PCR result were analysed to derive sociodemographic, clinical spectrum and outcome in Hospital Tuanku Ja'afar.
